Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark - Birthday (2016)

A new piece of Royal Mail! This time from Denmark.

I had written for Crown Prince Frederik's 48th birthday in May. The Crown Prince Couple always send the same very basic replies, so there isn't much to say.

The reply was sent last month, and took almost month to arrive. The Crown Prince Couple are the only royals I know who send mail economy, which means it can take awhile for it to arrive.

What is interesting about the reply is the half-circle hole that was made at the bottom of the envelope and card. I assume this was made sometime during the mailing process, but I don't know if it was intentional or the envelope just got caught on some machine used in the mailing process.

  1. Hello! I have one question about royal letter. The Duke of Gloucester celebrate his birthday in August and I would like to send a letter to Kensington Palace. But I am not sure do they send responses. Are you going to write to the Duke or maybe Did you write to him in the past... Thank you for your help. I`m really grateful. Have a nice day!

    1. First you can send a letter, even if people don't sent back a reply.

I have written to the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester 3 times. Twice last year for both of their birthdays and once this year for the Duchesses. I got replies for both of the Duchess's Birthdays, but I did not get a reply for the Duke's birthday.

I don't know if the Duke would send a reply for his birthday this year. Couple usually have similar policies about sending out replies. There have been times I've written to people for the same thing 2 years and once gotten a reply and once not. I think it just depends on how busy their office is at the time, and how much mail they have to get through.
