The Sussexs Tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga & New Zealand (2018)

October 16th - 31st, Prince Harry & Duchess Meghan (AKA the Duke and Duchess of Sussex) will undertake a 2 weeks tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga & New Zealand.

Wednesday 17th -  Dubbo, Australia
  • Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service 
  • Visit a local property affected by the recent drought in New South Wales
  • Attend picnic at Victoria Park
  •  Met students from Dubbo College Senior Campus
Thursday 18th -  Melbourne, Australia 
  • Attend an Youth Reception at Government House
    • Walkabout
  • Viewed a cooking demonstration at Charcoal Lane Restaurant.
  • Visited students participating in a sustainability programme at Albert Park Primary School
  • Visited students and beach patrol volunteers participating in a Beach Clean at South Melbourne Beac
Friday 19th - Sydney, Australia
  • Visited One Wave Mental Health Initiative on Bondi Beach
    • Walkabout
  • Take part in a youth advocate programme at Macarthur Girls High School
  • Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge to officially raise the Invictus Flag (Harry)
  • Meet with Leader of the Opposition at Admiralty House
  • Meet with the Prime Minister at Kirribilli House
Saturday 20th - Sydney, Australia        
  • Attended the official opening of the ANZAC Memorial Centenary Project in Hyde Park
  • Attend Invictus Games Sydney 2018 Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge on Cockatoo Island
  • Attend a Reception hosted by the NSW Premier inside the Opera House
  • Attend Invictus Games Opening Ceremony 
Sunday 21st - Sydney, Australia
  • Attend Invictus Games 
    • Watch Invictus Games Events 
      • (Meghan did skip the morning events, as she was feeling unwell, but did attending the sailing in the afternoon)
    • Lunchtime Reception hosted by Prime Minister 
    • Invictus Games Foundation Reception given by the Governor of New South Wales 
Monday 22nd -  Fraser Island, Australia 
  • Traditional Welcome to Country Smoking Ceremony and unveil a plaque for the dedication of the Forests of K’gari to the QCC (Harry) 
  • Visited Lake McKenzie and met Indigenous Elders of the Butchulla People (Harry) 
  • Visited McKenzie's Jetty and met Indigenous Land and Sea Rangers and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service Rangers. (Harry) 
  • Visit Kingfisher Bay 
Tuesday 23rd - Suva, Fiji
  • Meet with President of Fiji at Borron House
  • Attend an official welcome ceremony in the city centre's Albert Park
  • Attend a reception and a dinner hosted by The President of Fiji
Wednesday 24th - Suva, Fiji 
  • Lay a wreath at the Fiji War Memorial (Harry)
  • Visit the University of the South Pacific campus in Suva
    • Harry give Speech
    • Meghan will "say a few words"
  • Visit Colo-i-Suva Forest Park (Harry)
  • Attend a morning tea at the British High Commissioner’s Residence to showcase women's organisations (Meghan)

Thursday 25th - Nadi, Fiji and Nuku’alofa, Tonga    
  • Official welcome ceremony at Nadi Airport
    • Unveil a new statue commemorating Sergeant Talaiasi Labalaba

  • (Greeted at airport by Princess Angelika)
  • Official reception and dinner at Consular House
    • Audience with TM King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipauʻu 
Friday 26th - Nuku’alofa, Tonga and Sydney, Australia 
  • Meet with Prime Minister S. Akilisi Pohiva and Parliment members at St George Building
  • Attend an exhibition with Princess Angelika at the Faonelua Centre
  • Visit Tupou College, which is the oldest secondary school in the Pacific
    • Dedicate two forest reserves to The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy
  • Attend Offical Farwell at Royal Palace
  • Attend the Australian Geographic Society Awards

Saturday 27th - Sydney, Australia 
  • Attend Invictus Games Event
    •  Attended a Reception given by the Chairman of Invictus Games Sydney at ANZ Stadium
    • Attend Closing Ceremony 
Sunday 28th - Wellington, New Zealand
  • Traditional welcome ceremony on the lawns of Government House
  • Visit Pukeahu National War Memorial Park
    • Lay Wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior
    • Visit new UK War Memorial
    • Walk-about
  • Meet with Prime Minister at Government House
  • Meet with Leader of the Opposition at Government House
  • Attend reception hosted by the Governor General celebrating the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage (right to vote) in New Zealand
Monday 29th - Wellington and Abel Tasman, New Zealand
  • Attended a youth-led Mental Health Meeting at Maranui Cafe
  • Visit Abel Tasman National Park
  • Attended a Creative Industries Showcase at Courtenay Creative
Tuesday 30th -  Auckland, New Zealand
  • Unveiled The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy at North Shore Riding Club, 
  • Visit Pillars, a charity operating across New Zealand that supports children who have a parent in prison through the provision of special mentoring schemes

  • Attend a Reception hosted by the Prime Minister at the Auckland War Memorial Museum
Wednesday 31st - Rotorua, New Zealand
  • Visit Te Papaiouru Marae for a formal pōwhiri and luncheon
