Household Division - Royal Colonels (1952-Present)

The Household Division is a the military unit that performs public and ceremonial duties in London & Windsor. (A division is a military unit made up of a number of Regiments. The Household Division has 7 Regiments plus reserves.) 

The Household division duties include protecting several residences, changing of the guard, and participating in Trooping the Colour each year.

Note: 

Welsh Guards: King Charles held the position of Royal Colonel during Queen Elizabeth II's reign. When she died he assumed the higher position and became Colonel-in-Chief of this and other Household Division Regiments.

Note: 
Grenadier Guards: Queen Elizabeth II was Royal Colonel during her father's reign. When he died Elizabeth assumed the higher position and became Colonel-in-Chief of this and other Household Division Regiments. 
Life Guards: Both Alexander & Louis were born German Princes, but gave up their titles in WWII. And both were extended members of the British Royal Family.
