Each year, the Denmark Monarch holds 3 New Years Receptions for various officials. The receptions usually take place over 2 days during the 1st week of the year.

- Supreme Court judges, the Royal Life Guards and the Officer Corps of the Guard Hussar Regiment. Christian VII's Palace
- Reception 2 at Christiansborg Slot (11AM)
- Attending:
- Members of the Diplomatic Corp
- Carriage ride from Christian IX’s Palace at Amalienborg to Christiansborg Slot, escorted by Guard Hussar Regiment
- Reception 3 at Christiansborg Slot
- Attending
- Officers from the Armed Forces and the National Emergency Management Agency.
- Representatives of major national organizations and royal patronages.

Queen Margrethe II's Reign
In the final years of Queen Margrethe's reign, the event was usually attended by herself, Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary.
Court Dress
Queen Margrethe wears the same "Court Dress" outfit each year for the New Years Receptions. The current "Court Dress" was presented to Queen Margrethe in 2023 as a Jubilee gift from the Craftsman's Association.
