- Most of the time a Lieutenant-Representative has been appointed in Luxembourg, the Monarch abdicated a few years after. The Luxembourg royals likes to choose abdication dates that coincide with other milestones. Some upcomming milestones:
- 2025 - 25 years of reign (Silver Jubilee)/ 70th Birthday
- 2026 - Guillaume same age as when Henri ascended (45)
- 2030 - 30 years of reign/75th Birthday
- 2034 - Henri is same age as father when he abdicated (79)
- 2035 - same length of reign as father (35 years)/80th Birthday
