National Parade of King's Scouts

Each year, the National Parade of the King's Scouts is held at Windsor Castle. The event is attended by scout from around the UK. The parade started in 1934 and has been held annually since 1937. (The parade was canceled 1940-1945 due to WWII and 2020-2021 due to Covid Pandemic).

The event is held on the Sunday closest to St. George's Day (usually April 23rd).

Attending:

The parade is usually reviewed by a member of the Royal Family, with the monarch attending in milestone years. 

Scouts who in the past year received the:
  • King’s Scouts Award
  • Gallantry and Meritorious Conduct Award Holders
  • Silver Wolf Award
  • Silver Acorn Award 

Typical Schedule:
  • Review of Scouts in Quadrangle (2 PM)
    • Attended by Royal
  • National Scout Service at St. George’s Chapel (3 PM)

Queen Elizabeth - Patron of the Scout Association (1952-2022)
Duke of Kent - Joint President of the Scout Association (1975-Present)
Duchess of Cambridge - Joint President of the Scout Association (2020-Present)

  1. It should be noted that The Duke of Kent took the saulute from a seated postion rather than reviewed through the ranks as done previously due to mobility issues.
