The service for the Royal Victorian Order takes place every 4 years at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. The King's Chapel of the Savoy is the official chapel for the order. However, it has become too small to hold the growing number of members, so the service was moved to St George's Chapel.
The service is usually only attended by those who have received the Royal Victorian Order. (Honorary members are not invited, nor are members allowed to bring spouses or guests). The chart lists all of the royals who have received the order and could possibly attend.
Sovereign of Order:

- Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2022)
Grand Master:
- Princess Anne (2007-Present)
- Queen Mum (1937-2002)
We see the lower grade, Knight given to non-working or those not yet full-time. Prince Harry & Prince Andrew both received the grade Knight for their military service. Andrew was later upgraded to Knight Grand Cross. Prince Harry stepped down before he could be upgraded. Sir Angus and Sir Tim were both made Knights as well, and Sir Tim Laurnce was upgraded to
Prince Harry & Sir Angus are/were Knight Commanders of the Order and were never upgraded.

2003-2011, Prince Philip, as the spouse of the sovereign, attended the service with Queen Elizabeth despite not having received the Order.
Is it correct that William has not received this Order?
ReplyDeleteIt is correct. Like Charles before him, William has not received the order. This is because he has been give multiple higher honors. And will someday be the Sovereign of the order.
