We are in the process of moving all of our replies to our new site, Gert's Royal Replies. So all of our new replies will be there and all of these will slowly move there as well.
I have written to Princess Anne a few times. I only received a reply for my first letter. It was one of the quickest replies I have ever gotten. The reply is on the blog, but I noticed it wasn't listed under the British Replies page, so I added it there.
Yeah I've seen a bunch of people who have gotten Princess Charlotte's Birthday replies. And Clarence House has sent out replies for events since then. Given how long it's been, there's a chance your letter/ or the reply may have gotten lost in the mail. Or lost at their office.
I never got a reply for Princess Charlotte's birthday either. I had written a letter for the Cambridge's 5th Anniversary and Princess Charlotte's 1st birthday, and the reply was just for the Cambridge's 5th Anniversary. So if they only quickly glanced at the letter, I can see how they missed the part about Charlotte's Birthday.
I did write to Princess Anne for her birthday. Last year I got a reply August 25th. Princess Anne's office is usually pretty good about sending out replies in a timely manner.
That's great! Thank you ! I sent mine out a week before her birthday I forgot about it so I'm hoping they received it in time. I'm in NC and it usually takes around 7 days for mail to arrive in the UK from here.
Hi Gert! It's Jer again! I just received my reply from Princess Anne today in the mail!! I'm so happy. I saw where you said in a comment above that you put all your replys in binders? Please can you tell me what kind of binders and do you use anything special in them like acid free stuff?? I'm wanting to start adding mine in one as well! Thanks, Jer
Hey Jer, Nothing special. I just use normal binders that one might use for school or work and sheet protectors. I use tape to mark off where the different sections begin.
Hi I just wondered if you’d ever had a reply from Prince Harry. My Reception class sent them wedding wishes and lots and lots of pictures and are hoping for a reply by the end of the school year.
Our school made some Royal Wedding cards. (25 ks2 girls chose this as a golden time activity). I posted them using track & trace on Tuesday 22 May, parcel signed for before 7am the next day. We received our replies today, they probably waited for the new school year to start. I had a reply letter, ALL the girls had a b/w wedding photo postcard with a beautiful message on the back. Each card in an individual envelope with their name. Hope you have your reply now?
Do royals write back when your letter is about something different from birthday, christmas, aniversary etc.? Something about completely different case?
It depends on who you write to. Each Royal Office is different about what they reply to. But I've gotten replies for illnesses, surgeries, pregnancy announcements, deaths, etc from some royals and not from others.
I have written to Zara Tindall before a few times, only got one reply. I haven't written to Pippa before as she is not a member of the extended royal family.
As far as other members of the extended British royal family. I've written to a few over the years, usually to send my condolences after someone died. But I haven't gotten a reply.
You just need to be patient. Clarence House is very busy right now. I just received a reply last week for the letter I sent for Harry & Meghan's wedding 5.5 months ago.
In the begining of december 2018 i sent christmas card to some europeans royals, and last week i receive a card from royal family of belgium (sorry for my english, i live in france)
Is it common to get every time an official answer from prince Harry? Five times for example? At that time he wasn't married yet. I was delighted to receive responses. Greetings from a lady from Holland.
I've written to the Norway royals a number of times over the years. I've gotten two replies. You can see them on Gert's Royals Replies http://gertsroyalreplies.blogspot.com/2018/08/norway-royals-replies-main-page.html
Hi! I saw some replies from prince Carl Philip of sweden. Do you think that was just a special reply for his 40th birthday or do you think the swedish royals are starting to answer regularly? Thanks
I don't think the Swedish royals are going to start reply regularly. And I don't think this is just because it's a milestone birthday. Because I've written for many big important events and not gotten anything.
My suspicion has been for years that the Swedish Royals have cards they send out to their friends, charities, government officials, people related to their royal duties, and when they have extra leftover cards they send them out to well-wishers. That is why there is always a very long delay before people get their replies. The Palace is waiting until they sent out all the replies to the important people before sending the leftover cards to general well-wishers.
I have written to the Palace 3 times, Clarence House 1 time, Duke of Edinburgh 1 time, I even enclosed a stamped and addressed envelope. Are they always this rude not replying.
Right now the British Royals are very behind on replying. I am still seeing replies being sent out for Queen Elizabeth's passing. So, it could be you just need to be patient.
Also the British Royals don't reply for every occasion. It could be you wrote for something they don't normally reply for.
It was back in October that I started to communicate with King Charles. I wrote a very polite letter from an elderly lady of nearly 80 years, married to an ex Serviceman who is very much a Royalist and I asked him if it was possible for him or his staff to try and just see what was going on in A & E putting elderly people in corridors , as well as others for days on end. I quite expected to receive a reply from a member of his staff , just acknowledging my letter and even saying he was in a position to reply, fair enough, if that is so I was ok with it. However to just be ignored for 10 months I think is terrible. I have since sent letters asking for a response to my earlier letter, and as I have said enclosing also a stamped and addressed envelope.
I know something like that would not get handled by the regular correspondence section staff. It would get forwarded on to someone more senior. It could be that they are just very backlogged. I know they are still sending replies out for Queen Elizabeth's passing. So, they are almost a year backlogged..... Or it could be they are getting you message to someone who can actually address your issue. The wheels of bureaucracy move slowly.
I will also say, I know the palace has a database that they keep information about people who write to them. So they would have your information about what you write stored there. And they will be able to see you wrote multiple letters.
Have you ever written to the Countess of Wessex and about what? I haven't seen any responses from her. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI have written to the Wessexs a few times over the past few years, mainly the Edward and sophia's birthdays. But i never got a reply from them.
DeleteHave you seen/heard of them giving responses? Even on similar blogs, I have yet to see a response from them. Thanks for responding.
DeleteI've seen some over the years, and some recently.
DeleteRumors was that on the rare occasion they reply, they only replied to people in the UK. But I've seen recent replies from people outside the UK.
Hi, have you ever written to Princess Royal Anne? Have you received an answer? How long did you wait?

DeleteHello Gert, have you even written to the Duke of Gloucester? Have you received an answer/how long did you wait?
ReplyDeleteYes, I wrote to the Duke of Gloucester last year for his birthday, I did not get a reply.
DeleteI sent a birthday card to him last year, and got a thank you card back after about 2 weeks time :-)
DeleteThank you Gert and Luna!
ReplyDeleteHi Gert! I write Princess Charlotte birthday in May but i have not replay....You know people the have?Evi from Hungary

Hi, anybody have the adress to the Royal Family of Albania ? I can't find it anywhere.
ReplyDelete
DeleteAddresses can be found on the "Writing to the Royals" Tab.
Albania Royal Familys address is:
P.O. Box Nr. 8170,
Tirana, ALBANIA
Do albanian royals respond?
DeleteI have only written to them once, but did not get a response.
DeleteHi Gert,
ReplyDeleteDid you send Princess Anne a birthday card this year? How long does it usually take for a response back?

Thank you so very much! :)
DeleteI received a reply from Princess Margareta of Romania regarding the death of her father. Did you received yours?
ReplyDeleteI sent my condolences, but I haven't received a reply yet.

ReplyDeleteClarence House pretty much always replies to letters to well-wishers.
DeleteWill the Royals answer a request for assistance through their charities?
ReplyDeleteNo. You should contact the charity directly.
DeleteHello. I like your blogs a lot and I like to follow them.
ReplyDeleteMy question is whether you have ever received an answer from Norway ?
I've written to the Norway royals a number of times over the years. I've gotten two replies. You can see them on Gert's Royals Replies
