Prince Andrew's Birthday Reply (2016)

In February, I wrote to Prince Andrew to wish him a happy 56th birthday. This arrived yesterday in reply.

This kind of letter is exactly what you would expect from the Yorks. A few short lines, written by either Prince Andrew's private secretary, Amanda Thirsk or assistant private secretary, James Upsher. Sometimes the letter is on a full sheet, sometimes it is on a half sheet. And although it mentions a delay in replying, a month wait is perfectly normal for the Yorks.

 

This reply is a little nicer than last year's reply for Prince Andrew's Birthday. Replies from the York's don't always mention why you wrote. So it was nice to see that Amanda had taken the time to really read my letter, as it is clearly referenced at the end of the first paragraph.

    Hello! Congratulations! In February I received a response from the Duchess of York. Sarah has written to me personally!! I was really delighted. Happy Easter from Poland. Sorry for my English ;) I`m trying to write fluently.

    Congratulations!
    I've still waiting for responses from Duchess of Cambridge, I wrote to her over a month ago, and from Queen Maxima - I wrote in January! I feel a bit anxiety...

      Dobry dzień! Don't worry this kind of wait is perfectly normal. It takes time for responses to come, their offices get busy. 1-2 months is a normal response time, but I've gotten replies up to four months latter.

      I'm likely not going to write to Marie. I don't really follow the Liechtenstein royals all that closely. You can write to them. The Address is

    Can i first say, that this royal blog is just FANTASTIC!! Keep up your good work :-)
    I have sent birthday card to the Yorks for years now, but not once i have got a reply, which i think is incredible rude. Otherwise i have got reply from every other royal family.

      I hate hearing people didn't get replies. I've had a few letters from the Yorks that didn't get replies. The smaller royals are less consistent about replying to letters, and they're doesn't seem to be a pattern.
