Duchess Kate's Official Patronages - Young People

In an effort to kept things organized this section features only Duchess Kate's Young People related patronages.  You can find links to all of her patronages here.

Patron of the Art Room (Janurary 2012 - January 2018)

Place2Be is a charity that works to improve the mental health and emotional well-being of children. They currently support over 200 schools nationwide. Place2Be provides schools with trained counselors and therapist to work with children, parents, teacher and other school staff. 

The charity also provides art therapy for children 5 to 16-year-olds with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Place2Be runs 8 Art Rooms in Oxfordshire, London, and Edinburgh. Place2Be's art rooms were originally run by a separate charity, the Art Room.


Place2Be and the Art Room merged in January 2018. Before that Kate was patron of the two separate charities (Art Room since January 2012 and Place2Be since April 2013).

The Anne Freud Centre is a UK children's mental health charity. They offer a wide range of services (therapy, support, training) to children, families, and schools. 


They also provide training for mental health professionals and carries out research.

Action for Children is a charity that supports v
ulnerable and neglected children and young people, and their families, throughout the UK. They help with family support, foster care, adoption, child neglect, and 
disability respite therapy.

Previous called the National Children's home, the charity was founded in 1868 as a home for London's street children. 

Queen Elizabeth II was patron (?-2016).

Joint President (Sept 2020-Present)

The Scouts is the largest Scouting organization in the United Kingdom and is the UK's recognized member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. The association has various youth programs for people aged between 6 and 25. And works to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

The association was previously called the Boy Scouts Association. When it was founded in 1910, only boys age 11 t0 18 were able to participate. It has since expanded its age requirements and allows in girls. 

Duchess Kate is Joint President with the Duke of Kent (1975-Present) (Joint President with Duchess Kate starting in 2020)
