Duchess Meghan - Official Patronages

Patronages are not always for a lifetime, but often a set amount of time (for an appeal, 3 years, 5 years, etc). The patronages are reviewed after that period and usually renewed.

Beatrice co-founded Big Change in 2012, with friends. She has been a trustee of Big Change since May 2013.  Big Change raises funds and supports forward-thinking projects, ideas and people

Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity

The Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity is a charity based in Scotland that support the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh. The Hospital was open in 1895 by Beatrice's namesake, Princess Beatrice, the youngest daughter of Queen Victoria.


The Charity works to make sure the patients and their families receive the best care and support possible through, comfortable and inviting facilities, accommodations for families, family support, staff training, art projects, etc. 


The Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity also gives grants to fund projects, equipment, and training at many other children’s healthcare locations throughout Scotland. (Previously called The Sick Kids Friends Foundation.)


Northwood African Education Foundation

Northwood African Education Foundation is a charity run by Broomwood Hall School (Students Age 4-13) in London. The Foundation built and runs a school in Gondar, Ethiopia called St George’s School with the hopes to provide the underprivileged students in Ethiopia the same high standard of education Broomwood Hall School provides its students.

Theischarity was previously called Broomwood African Education Foundation.

Forget Me Not Children's Hospice

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports children with life-shortening conditions in West Yorkshire. The Charity has a state of the art Hospice, Russell House, in Huddersfield, and also provided home hospice services. The charity provides care and support for the children, both physically and mentally, emotionally and socially. Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice works to help each child live life to the fullest. 


They also provide support for their families, who are often overwhelmed providing their sick child's full-time care. 


Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre

Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre provides support for people with Dyslexia as well as training & courses for student, parent and specialist teachers. The Centre also provides Dyslexia screening assessment and subsidized training for those unable to afford the normal fees.


At the age of 7, Beatrice was diagnosed with dyslexia and received help and support from the Centre throughout her secondary education.


York Theatre Royal

The York Theatre Royal is over 270 years old.  The theatre entertains over 200,000 people a year with a variety of performances, including its annual pantomime.


Berkshire Community Foundation

The Berkshire Community Foundation was founded in 1985 to help support the community in the Royal County of Berkshire. The Foundation provides grants for individuals, families, and companies in the community. Beatrice has close ties to the community as 2 schools she attended, Upton House School and St. George's School, are located in Berkshire.


English National Ballet School

English National Ballet School is the official school of the English National Ballet. It is a world-renowned ballet training centre for young ballet dancers from around the world, age 16 to 19.  The school gives talented young dancers the opportunity to train regardless of a student's financial ability, though subsided tuition fees and scholarships. The school is in central London.

The Teenage Cancer Trust is a UK based charity. The charity works to help provide life-changing care for teens with cancer. They have 28 specialty cancer units with expert staff in NHS hospitals. They also provide these teen and their families support. Teenage Cancer Trust helps fund a portfolio of cancer research and policy. 

Duchess Sarah and Princess Eugenie are also Honorary Patrons of the organization.

Oscar’s Book Prize is an annual award for the best book of the year for children under five. It is awarded in memory of Oscar Ashton, who passed away in 2012 at age 3 from an undetected heart condition.

Charity: Water is a charity that works to bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. They create sustainable projects that work for that specific community. This requires finding the right location and using technology that will work well there. They also work with local government and community leaders throughout the process. And provides education and training to help the local community maintain these wells.  

Both Princess Eugenie & Princess Beatrice are Patrons of Charity: Water according to The Duke of York's official website. Charity: Water has been unwilling to confirm that Princess Eugenie & Princess Beatrice are patrons. 

Outward Bound Trust

The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity that runs a number of outdoor learning courses to equip young people with valuable skills. The trust works to help young people become more confident, more effective and more capable at school, college and in the workplace.


Prince Andrew was Patron (March 2019-  November2019). He was previously Chairman of the Board of Trustees (1999-2019). Prince Philip was previously Patron (1953-2019).

Queen Camila is Patron or President of over 70 Charities and organizations, with a few dating back to before her marriage to King Charles

Patronages are not for a life-time, but a set amount of time (for a appeal, 3 years, 5 years, etc). Patronages are usually reviewed after every 5 years, and possibly renewed.

Scottish National Equestrian Centre is a equestrian training and competition centre in Scotland.

Lady Joseph Charitable Trust is a UK charity that helps fund equestrian riders with a wide rage of disabilities. They mainly support Para-Equestrian Dressage, which is the only Equestrian discipline in the Paralympic Games.

Royal Osteoporosis Society is a UK-based charity that works towards better diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of osteoporosis. They also work to influence health and social care policy for people with osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a condition where the bones in our body to become fragile and prone to break. 

The charity was formerly called the National Osteoporosis Society. It changed its name in 2019, when it was granted the use of "Royal" in its name. 

Camilla's mother, Rosalind Shand, died of the disease in 1994.

Royal College of Podiatry

The College of Podiatry is the Professional body for podiatrists and students of podiatry.
The organization was formerly called the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists

The Queen Mum was previously Patron from 1981-2002.

The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases is a hospital in Bath that specializes in rheumatic diseases and rehabilitation. They also treat chronic fatigue and chronic pain. The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases provide patient-centred care to people of all ages.

Helen House was the world's first children's hospice, opening in 1982. Douglas House was founded in 2004 for young adults age 16-35. This was a unique hospice since it deals with young adults. They would often find the environment of a children or adult hospice ill-suited. 


Helen and Douglas House's hospices provide specialist and end-of-life care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions. It also provides support & relief for their families. They have locations in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire, and parts of London.

Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres is UK Cancer Charity. It offers people diagnosed with cancer (as well as their families, friends, employer) physical, emotional or social support. They do a variety of things from offering courses on managing stress, counseling on benefits they may be eligible for, bereavement support, information on cancer treatments, hair loss, returning to work, etc.

Prospect Hospice

Children's Hospice South West is a hospice for children with life-limiting conditions in the South West of England. They provide respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care. As well as supports for the families.

Medical Detection Dogs uses animals to help diagnose serious illnesses, including detecting cancer and sniffing for peanuts . These dogs can also work with people suffering from diabetes and warn them if their blood-sugar levels are too high or low.

The Duchenne Children's Trust is a organization that works to fund clinical research and trials for treatments and a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Duchenne UK was formed in April 2016, by the coming together of Duchenne Children's Trust and Joining Jack. Queen Camilla was president of Duchenne Children's Trust from 2014 to it's merger. 

Camilla's former Daughter, Sara Parker Bowles is one of the Patrons of the organization. & previous served as Patron of

The charity operates 2 vans that acts as command centers. They assist People at risk, or victim of, theft, burglary & domestic violence. Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust carries out security audits and fire risk assessments. When necessary they install security equipment and smoke detectors free of charge.

The Plumpton College Charitable Foundation assists  Plumpton College students with financial hardship as well as raise funds to improvement the resources at the College.  

Plumpton College teaches land-based courses including Agriculture, Horticulture, Floristry, Greenkeeping, Hard Landscaping, Equine, etc.

United Kingdom Vineyards Association is a organization for English and Welsh grape growers and winemakers. The organization works to share information, and promote and develop the England wine industry.  

The organization hosts the English and Welsh Wine of the Year Competition every year.

Community First is a Wiltshire and Swindon based charity. They provides technical advice,  support and grants to initiatives in their community. They working with parish and town councils, youth clubs, community transport, voluntary organizations, etc. They focus on community development, support and access for what is largely a rural area. 
Emmaus UK

Emmaus UK is a homeless charity. Emmaus was founded in Paris, in 1949. The first Emmaus community in the UK was founded in 1992 and the UK now has the largest Emmaus movement outside of France. Emmaus provides homeless individuals with shelter as well as a job at the local Emmaus community business (store, cafe, etc).  The job pays for their housing, food and upkeep, as well as provides each individual with a small weekly allowance. 

Emmaus UK works to not only provide for homeless individuals but to rebuild their lives by offering them meaningful work and support.

Crathie Opportunity Holidays is a Scottish charity. The charity hopes to provide people with a range of disabilities suitable holiday accommodations. The charity has a number of cottages in Crathie, designed to offer maximum accessibility, while maintaining the highest standard of accommodations.

East Sussex Women of the Year Lunch

The East Sussex Women of the Year Lunch was created to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions, achievements and inspiration shown by women working in professional and voluntary roles in East Sussex.

Guild of St. Bride is religious guild for St. Bride's Church in London. The Guild supports the church's wider work. Due to the Churches proximity to Fleet Street, it has a long association with London's journalists and newspapers.

The Big Lunch is a project to get communities together for a annual lunch on the first Sunday in June. It hopes to promote community, friendship and fun.

Friends of Erlestoke Prison is a English charity that supports the rehabilitation of prisoners who are or have been prisoners at HMP Erlestoke.  The Charity helps funds programs and initiatives that are beyond the scope of prison budgets, such as housing support workers, helping to foster relationships between inmates and their children, workshops, classes, etc. 

Camilla became patron in July 2013, for a initial 5 years.
